Punjab Introduces Rapid Surgery for Spinal Injuries

ISLAMABAD: The Punjab Institute of Neurosurgery (PINS) has launched a pioneering emergency surgical protocol for spinal cord injury patients.

This new system guarantees surgical intervention within 24 hours of admission to prevent permanent disability and ensure timely medical care.

The hospital administration emphasized that spinal trauma patients will no longer experience delays for surgery.
Surgical procedures will now be performed on the very first day of patient admission, offering immediate support to all spinal trauma cases.

Round-the-Clock Surgical Support
Professor Asif Bashir, head of spinal trauma at PINS, confirmed that operating theaters are now fully functional 24/7 to support this critical initiative.
This continuous availability aims to provide prompt relief from severe pain and minimize the risk of long-term complications.
