Karachi/Islamabad : Pakistan’s annual Hajj operations for 2026 have officially commenced with the departure of the first flight from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi. The flight carried 160 pilgrims bound for the holy cities of Saudi Arabia.
Airport officials saw off the pilgrims, offering prayers and best wishes for their sacred journey.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, this year’s government Hajj scheme involves a large-scale travel operation, under which 468 flights from different cities of Pakistan will transport pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
Following Karachi’s departure, additional Hajj flights are scheduled to operate from Lahore, Sialkot, and Multan airports on the same day.
The ministry added that all necessary arrangements for accommodation, meals, and transport in Saudi Arabia have been finalized to ensure maximum facilitation for the pilgrims.
Authorities stated that pilgrims will be sent in phases according to their scheduled groups to ensure smooth and organized travel.
At the time of departure, emotional and joyful scenes were observed as pilgrims expressed gratitude and prayed for the peace, unity, and prosperity of Pakistan before beginning their spiritual journey.
