ISLAMABAD: The prices of live broiler chicken and chicken meat have dropped noticeably in Lahore, Multan, and Peshawar this week.
In Lahore, live broiler chicken prices decreased by Rs. 10 per kilogram, bringing the wholesale rate to Rs. 304 per kg and the retail price to Rs. 318 per kg.
Similarly, broiler chicken meat in Lahore saw a reduction of Rs. 14 per kg, now priced at Rs. 461 per kg.
However, the cost of eggs in Lahore increased slightly by Rs. 2 per dozen, reaching Rs. 317 per dozen.
Price Trends in Multan
Multan also experienced a decline in chicken prices, with live broiler rates falling by Rs. 8 per kg.
Chicken meat prices dropped by Rs. 11 per kg, and the wholesale and retail prices are now Rs. 286 and Rs. 300 per kg, respectively.
Egg prices in Multan went up by Rs. 3 per dozen, selling at Rs. 317 per dozen.
Significant Drop in Peshawar
The city of Peshawar witnessed the steepest decrease, with live broiler chicken prices plunging by Rs. 65 per kg over the past week.
The current official rate stands at Rs. 315 per kg, down from Rs. 380.
This recent adjustment in poultry prices reflects a potential relief for consumers in these key cities.
