CM Maryam Nawaz Stresses Skill Development as Key to Youth Empowerment

 

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted the critical role of skill development alongside formal education in shaping the future of the province’s youth on International Youth Day.

Speaking about the changing times, Maryam Nawaz said, “In today’s world, having a degree is not enough — skills are the true drivers of personal success and national growth.” She emphasized that skills empower youth by providing confidence and sustainable employment.

The Chief Minister outlined ongoing initiatives by the Punjab government, including the introduction of EdTech projects in schools, internships across multiple government sectors, and comprehensive IT skill training programs. She also mentioned plans to launch internationally recognized certification courses for freelancers to enhance global competitiveness.

Maryam Nawaz expressed her vision for the Nawaz Sharif IT City, which aims to serve as a cutting-edge hub for innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. “Our goal is to prepare young people not just to seek jobs but to create them,” she said.

The CM’s message underscores the government’s commitment to nurturing a skilled, confident, and self-reliant generation ready to contribute to Punjab’s progress.
