9 India-Backed Militants Killed, 8 Arrested in Security Forces’ Operation in Malakand

 

Rawalpindi:According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a successful intelligence-based operation was carried out in the Malakand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by Pakistan’s security forces in coordination with police, Levies, CTD, and local administration.

The joint operation, conducted between July 16 and 20, targeted elements allegedly linked to a militant group reportedly backed by Indian intelligence. Nine militants were killed and eight captured alive during four days of intense fighting.

The forces strategically encircled the area and destroyed two key militant hideouts. A significant amount of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered.

ISPR stated that the militants were believed to be plotting acts of terrorism to destabilize the region.
Local residents have praised the operation, expressing full solidarity with the state’s efforts to eliminate terrorism.

According to the military spokesperson, Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eradicating terrorism, particularly those elements operating under foreign sponsorship, with the full support of the nation.
