Field Marshal Munir, Chinese FM discus strategic partnership, eye deeper regional collaboration

Islamabad: In a high-level diplomatic engagement, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss advancing bilateral cooperation amid evolving regional dynamics.

The meeting, held in Islamabad, focused on strengthening collaboration in regional security, counter-terrorism, and mutual engagement at global forums. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides underscored the importance of a stable and peaceful region for shared prosperity.

Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, development, and national security, describing the partnership as “ironclad” and rooted in mutual trust.

Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed appreciation for Beijing’s unwavering support over the years, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to elevating the strategic alliance.

The two leaders agreed to deepen ties across defense, security, and diplomatic spheres, reiterating a joint vision for a secure and interconnected future in the region.
