President Zardari calls Field Marshal Asim Munir’s response to India a ‘Reality Check’

Garhi Khuda Bakhsh: In a compelling address on the 18th martyrdom anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, President Asif Ali Zardari recalled the critical role that the famous slogan “Pakistan Khappay” (Pakistan is needed) played in securing the nation’s future following Benazir Bhutto’s tragic assassination.

He proudly declared, “Alhamdulillah, Pakistan is safe, functioning, and will continue to prosper indefinitely.”

Reflecting on the May conflict with India, President Zardari praised the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Pakistani Armed Forces for their quick, forceful response to Indian aggression. He emphasized that the retaliation sent a clear and resolute message to India, particularly to Indian Prime Minister Modi, that Pakistan’s strength and resolve should never be underestimated.

Zardari stated, “The response made it clear that Pakistan takes any threat seriously and will not back down.”

As the inheritor of the legacies of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, Zardari reiterated that both he and his party, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), are always prepared to defend the country and make any sacrifice necessary for its protection.

He reminded the audience that the Bhutto family has always faced challenges head-on, never hiding in bunkers. “Martyrdom comes in the battlefield, not in bunkers,” Zardari said, reinforcing his commitment to defending the nation.

Zardari made it clear that he is ready to sacrifice everything, including his life, to defend Pakistan. He proudly stated that the PPP alone has the strength and resolve to challenge any adversary. “If anyone dares to harm Pakistan, they will face a strong response,” he declared, underscoring his unwavering dedication to the country’s defense.

On Pakistan’s ongoing challenges, Zardari acknowledged the country’s difficulties but assured the public that these problems would diminish with time.

Reflecting on the past, he criticized PTI founder without naming him and said that a “foolish” individual had damaged the country’s international standing over five years. However, he emphasized that efforts are now underway to rebuild and strengthen Pakistan’s global relations.

President Zardari concluded by reaffirming that the PPP remains fully capable of protecting Pakistan. He assured the public that the party would continue to play a vital role in ensuring the country’s stability, security, and prosperity.
