Hamas expresses concerns over Trump peace plan, demands full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, protection for its leaders

Gaza: Palestinian group Hamas has called for changes to the 20-point peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. The organization demands a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and international assurances for the safety of its leaders.

Palestinian sources say Hamas will provide an official response within two to three days. The group has strong objections to certain provisions of the plan, especially the requirement to disarm.

Recently, Hamas negotiators met with Turkish, Egyptian, and Qatari officials in Doha to discuss the plan and explore diplomatic options.

According to the U.S. proposal, Hamas must be completely disarmed and excluded from any future government role. However, it includes a general amnesty for those who choose to remain peaceful.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israeli forces will continue to maintain a presence in much of Gaza, which is seen as a significant hurdle to implementing the peace plan.
