Tremors shake Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, residents rush outdoors

Islamabad : A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), causing panic among residents who rushed outdoors for safety.

The tremors were reported in Malakand, Lower Dir, Hangu, Kohat, Bajaur, Swat, Buner, Shangla, and North Waziristan, with additional shaking felt in Swabi and Upper Dir. Citizens in Islamabad and Rawalpindi also noticed the tremors.

According to officials, the epicentre of the quake was located in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region, at a depth of 73 kilometers. Buildings swayed as residents hurried to open spaces, reciting prayers and seeking protection.

Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely.
