Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Tuesday, where both sides held detailed discussions on regional developments and bilateral cooperation.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the meeting focused on the evolving geopolitical situation in the region and matters of mutual interest between Pakistan and China.
During the discussion, the Chinese envoy reiterated China’s strong support for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives and appreciated Islamabad’s efforts to encourage dialogue between the United States and Iran, aimed at promoting long-term peace and stability in the region. He emphasized that constructive engagement among regional and global actors is essential for reducing tensions and ensuring stability.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, describing it as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy. He highlighted the deep-rooted and time-tested nature of the bilateral relationship and expressed satisfaction over continued cooperation in multiple sectors.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining regular high-level exchanges between the two countries to further strengthen political trust, expand economic collaboration, and enhance coordination on regional and global issues.
Both sides agreed to continue close engagement and work together to further deepen the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
