Islamabad : Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, during which both leaders discussed bilateral and regional developments.
During the conversation, the Uzbek Foreign Minister congratulated Ishaq Dar on the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. He also commended the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir for their constructive role in facilitating the process.
Bakhtiyor Saidov appreciated Pakistan’s efforts as a mediator and acknowledged its contribution to promoting international peace initiatives as well as strengthening regional stability.
Both sides expressed optimism that the progress achieved would continue in the next phase of engagement, paving the way for lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.
The two ministers also agreed to remain in close contact on matters of mutual interest.
