Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif presided over a video conference to assess the progress of the province’s digital governance programme and efforts to modernise the delivery of public services.
During the meeting, officials briefed the chief minister that more than 6,000 government systems had been integrated with the central platform operated by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The integration is aimed at improving coordination and enabling government departments to exchange information and manage official processes more efficiently.
The meeting was also informed that nearly 600 organisations have been brought onto the digital network through the e-Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS). The system is helping government institutions shift routine documentation, file movement and administrative work towards digital processes.
Officials also shared an update on the performance of the ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ programme, which is designed to make government services available to citizens at their homes.
According to the briefing, more than four million people have submitted requests for government services through the initiative, while over 3.1 million citizens have already received services at their doorsteps.
The programme is intended to reduce the need for citizens to physically visit government offices and make access to public services faster and more convenient.
The meeting also examined measures to further expand digital connectivity among government institutions, improve administrative efficiency and strengthen technology-based service delivery across Punjab.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stressed the importance of continuing the digital transformation of government departments and ensuring that modern technology is used to provide citizens with easier, more efficient and accessible public services.
