Rawalpindi : Pakistan Navy has launched its major maritime exercise, SEASPARK-2026, in Karachi, the military’s media wing reported on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Naval Staff chaired the opening briefing of the exercise, which was attended by senior officers from various branches of Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
The military’s media wing said the exercise is designed to put the Pakistan Navy’s operational preparedness through rigorous testing against both conventional and evolving threats at sea. The drills bring together a wide range of naval and joint capabilities, including warships, submarines, aircraft, unmanned platforms, marines and special forces, along with participating elements from the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force.
Before the opening session, the Naval Chief visited units of the Pakistan Navy Fleet and reviewed the ongoing operational activities.
While speaking to officers and personnel, he emphasised that the changing security landscape requires the armed forces to maintain the highest level of preparedness, improve coordination among the three services and remain flexible and effective across both physical and information domains.
The ISPR said the exercise is centred on practicing Multi-Domain Operations by bringing together maritime, aerial, ground, cyber and space-enabled capabilities. It also incorporates Operations in the Information Environment to help establish an advantage in the information battlespace while ensuring close coordination with kinetic operations at sea.
Through the exercise, Pakistan Navy aims to further strengthen its ability to respond effectively to complex and emerging maritime security challenges.
