PPP Backs PTI Inclusion in Diplomatic Mission

ISLAMABAD: PPP Secretary General Humayun Khan has voiced support for including all political stakeholders — including rival party PTI — in Pakistan’s diplomatic delegation to key global capitals.

The delegation is part of an effort to counter Indian narratives following recent military tensions between the two countries.

Diplomacy in a Crisis

In response to rising hostilities after the Pahalgam attack and India’s subsequent airstrikes in Punjab and Azad Kashmir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the formation of a high-level team to represent Pakistan’s position internationally.

The goal: expose what the government calls India’s “propaganda campaign.”

Speaking on DawnNewsTV’s Doosra Rukh, Khan emphasized, “All stakeholders are welcome to help steer the country through this crisis.

We must stand united and present a strong, collective voice.” He also expressed full support for Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari leading the delegation, saying, “The prime minister made the right call.”

Delegation Members and Destinations

The diplomatic team, led by Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, includes:

  • Dr. Musadik Malik

  • Engineer Khurram Dastgir

  • Senator Sherry Rehman

  • Hina Rabbani Khar

  • Faisal Subzwari

  • Tehmina Janjua

  • Jalil Abbas Jilani

They will visit key global hubs — Washington, London, Paris, and Brussels — to brief world leaders and media on Pakistan’s position and India’s recent military aggression.

India’s Allegations and the Fallout

Tensions flared when India blamed Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack without presenting evidence.

In retaliation, India launched airstrikes on May 6–7, which resulted in civilian casualties. Pakistan responded by shooting down five Indian aircraft.

Following days of tit-for-tat military action, a ceasefire was brokered on May 10 through U.S. diplomatic efforts.

Despite the ceasefire, India has continued aggressive rhetoric, prompting Pakistan to initiate a global diplomatic offensive.

India’s Parallel PR Campaign

In a similar move, New Delhi announced it would send its own all-party delegations to key countries, including UN Security Council members, to promote its narrative on terrorism and regional peace.
