Nawaz Sharif Calls for UN Intervention in Kashmir Dispute

LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif has urged the United Nations to take a proactive role in resolving the longstanding Kashmir issue.

Speaking to media during his London visit, the three-time former prime minister emphasized the need for international community support on Pakistan’s key concerns.

Appeal for International Support

Sharif stressed that implementing UN resolutions remains crucial for resolving global conflicts, particularly the Kashmir and Palestine disputes.

“It is the collective responsibility of the international community to support Pakistan’s legitimate issues,” he stated, while praising China, Turkiye and Azerbaijan for their consistent backing during challenging times.

Domestic Progress and Health Checkup

The PML-N supremo noted improvements in Pakistan’s global standing and commended Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s governance performance.

Sharif, who arrived via special flight accompanied by his son Hassan Nawaz and personal physician, will undergo comprehensive medical examinations during his London stay and is expected to celebrate Eidul Azha in the UK capital.

Sharif’s remarks come as he revisits his 2017 stability claims, alleging conspiracies derailed Pakistan’s progress. His London visit combines political engagements with personal health priorities.
