Trump Threatens Iran, Demands ‘Unconditional Surrender’

ISLAMABAD: In a dramatic escalation of tensions, U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly warned Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declaring that the United States knows his location but will not “take him out—for now.”

Trump’s provocative remarks, posted on his Truth Social account, have raised questions about the likelihood of direct U.S. military involvement in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.

He wrote: “We know exactly where the so-called ‘supreme leader’ is hiding… he is an easy target… but we are not going to take him out—at least not for now.”

Trump also issued a stark demand for Iran’s “unconditional surrender,” adding: “Our patience is wearing thin.”

White House Hints at Possible U.S. Role

Trump’s rhetoric appears to mark a shift from previous U.S. positions that downplayed involvement in the Israel-Iran war, now entering its sixth day.

According to White House officials, the president convened a meeting with the National Security Council shortly after returning early from the G7 summit in Canada.

Asked about U.S. intervention, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said the matter rests with President Trump and confirmed the formation of a special Middle East task force to assist U.S. nationals and diplomatic staff.

Trump also suggested that the U.S. has “complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” sparking fresh speculation over American support for Israeli operations.

Israel Intensifies Air Campaign

Israel, under “Operation Rising Lion,” continues large-scale attacks on Iranian nuclear sites and residential areas, claiming to target Tehran’s alleged nuclear ambitions.

Iran has denied weaponization plans and has reported major civilian casualties from Israeli strikes.

Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that he seeks “a real end, not a ceasefire,” and hinted at possible diplomatic outreach through Vice President JD Vance or Envoy Steve Witkoff—depending on the situation.

The crisis remains fluid, with signals pointing toward deeper U.S. involvement in the days ahead.
