ISLAMABAD:
President Asif Ali Zardari has underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path to achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
In an official statement issued from Islamabad, the president expressed deep concern over the rapidly escalating tensions in the region, warning that continued conflict could threaten the lives of millions.
He urged all involved parties to show maximum restraint and avoid actions that may further destabilize the situation.
President Zardari warned that unchecked escalation could spiral beyond control, turning the Middle East into a broader zone of instability.
He emphasized that peace cannot be imposed through force and reiterated that all regional and global actors must commit to diplomatic engagement.
“The situation demands maturity, restraint, and a commitment to meaningful dialogue,” he said.
“The wellbeing of innocent civilians must remain the top priority.”
Call for Global Responsibility
Zardari also appealed to the international community to take proactive steps to help de-escalate the crisis.
He said that the world must not remain indifferent while instability spreads through an already volatile region.
“The international community must rise to its responsibility to facilitate peaceful conflict resolution,” he stated.
He stressed that collective global efforts are essential not just for the region’s stability but also for broader international peace.
The president’s comments come amid ongoing conflict involving US and Israeli military operations against Iran, which have prompted international alarm and calls for urgent diplomatic intervention.
Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and constructive dialogue in all international affairs.
He reiterated that diplomacy remains the only path to ensure sustainable outcomes and long-term security across the Middle East.
