Bannu: In a daring attempt to unleash devastation, militants launched a suicide vehicle bomb attack targeting the FC Line, smashing their explosive-laden car into the perimeter wall and setting off a massive explosion. However, the quick response from security forces turned the tide, resulting in the elimination of four attackers. Unfortunately, five police officers, including a senior officer, sustained injuries but are reported to be in stable condition.
Security personnel swiftly cordoned off the site and initiated an extensive sweep to ensure the area was cleared of any further threats.
In another chilling development, a drone strike hit an FC checkpost in Bannu, killing one officer and wounding three others. Preliminary investigations reveal that the drone—believed to be a quadcopter—was rigged with explosives, signaling a troubling new tactic by insurgents.
Meanwhile, in Lakki Marwat’s Machan Khel Adda, two police officers lost their lives in a sudden ambush carried out by assailants on motorcycles. The attackers unleashed gunfire without warning before fleeing the scene, escalating concerns about security in the region.
