Faisalabad: An important seminar aimed at enhancing youth education, training, and character development was recently held at the University of Faisalabad. The event was organized by the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) and witnessed a large turnout of education experts, faculty members, and students.
Delivering the keynote address, APSUP Chairman and renowned educationist Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdur Rehman paid tribute to the late educational leader Mian Amir Mehmood. He highlighted Mian Amir’s significant contributions in establishing hundreds of colleges and multiple universities across Pakistan, strengthening the country’s educational infrastructure. “He remains a true role model for our younger generation,” Dr. Rehman stated.
Professor Abdur Rehman emphasized the urgent need for youth to develop strong character alongside academic qualifications. “Today’s society requires not just degrees, but integrity, punctuality, responsibility, and honesty from our young people,” he said. Expressing concern, he noted a growing gap in character and behavior among youth, which poses a serious challenge.
He stressed that educating youth goes beyond imparting knowledge; it involves nurturing their personalities to enable them to contribute positively to society. Drawing inspiration from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he said that following his teachings can lead to success on both individual and national levels.
Concluding his speech, Professor Rehman outlined APSUP’s mission to instill faith in God, self-confidence, and a sense of responsibility among Pakistani youth.
