Islamabad: In an effort to disrupt international human trafficking networks, Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has approved the establishment of overseas immigration liaison offices in six countries—namely the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Türkiye, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates.
These nations have been identified as major transit and destination points for illegal migration and human smuggling operations. According to official sources, the new FIA desks will act as frontline coordination hubs to monitor and counter cross-border trafficking activities more effectively.
The initiative is part of Pakistan’s broader plan to strengthen international cooperation against organized human smuggling. Besides targeting illicit migration channels, the overseas offices will also assist Pakistani tourists, students, and business travelers by offering immigration support and advisory services abroad.
With this move, FIA aims to not only tighten enforcement but also enhance legal migration pathways and protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
