Pakistan and Iraq Agree to strengthen defense cooperation during Iraqi air force commander’s visit

Islamabad : Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), held a high-level meeting with Lieutenant General Staff Pilot Mohannad Ghalib Muhammad Radi Al-Asadi, Commander of the Iraqi Air Force, at Air Headquarters Islamabad. Both sides agreed to further enhance bilateral defense cooperation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), discussions during the meeting focused on joint training exercises, boosting operational capabilities, and collaboration in aviation technology.

During the visit, the Iraqi delegation was accorded a Guard of Honor. Commander Al-Asadi praised the leadership, training systems, and technological advancements of the Pakistan Air Force and expressed a keen interest in benefiting from PAF’s extensive experience.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu emphasized the brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iraq, describing them as a strong foundation for close cooperation between the two countries’ air forces. He assured the Iraqi Air Force of full training support.

The Iraqi delegation later toured the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, Cyber Command, and the Integrated Air Operations Center, where they were briefed on the modern capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force.

The spokesperson stated that the visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the defense partnership between Pakistan and Iraq.
