Islamabad: Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri of the Islamabad High Court has been temporarily suspended from judicial duties due to a pending complaint before the Supreme Judicial Council. According to sources, this measure has been taken to uphold transparency and maintain the code of conduct within the judiciary.
Officials stated that Justice Tariq Jahangiri will refrain from performing any judicial work until the Supreme Judicial Council delivers its final verdict. A formal notification regarding this suspension has already been issued.
During the hearing of a related constitutional petition, the High Court appointed senior lawyers Barrister Zafarullah Khan and Ashtar Ali Ausaf as judicial assistants. Their role will include assisting in assessing the maintainability of the petition filed by the Attorney General.
The division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Azam Khan concluded today’s hearing on the petition filed by lawyer Mian Dawood and also issued a written order.
