Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has stated that government jobs in the province are being filled strictly on merit, and a policy of zero tolerance against corruption is being strictly enforced.
She made these remarks during a meeting with participants and faculty members of the National Security and War Course, which included officers from Pakistan’s three armed forces as well as 47 officers from 26 different countries.
Maryam Nawaz briefed the delegation on Punjab government’s ongoing welfare, reform, and development projects. She emphasized that every decision made by a good leader profoundly impacts the lives of the people, and that good governance is not merely about ruling, but about serving the people. She assured that public funds are being spent solely on public welfare and that complete transparency is being ensured through the implementation of the e-tendering system.
The Chief Minister said that the homeland is like a mother and betrayal towards it is unacceptable. She further added that political appointments and nepotism have become a thing of the past in Punjab.
On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz congratulated the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force on the success of Operation Bunyān Marsūs, and paid tribute to the entire military leadership, including Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir.
She highlighted that law and order in Punjab has improved, and that the country’s largest evacuation operation during floods was successfully conducted. Thermal imaging drones were used to identify and locate affected people in time.
Furthermore, she stated that Punjab’s agriculture sector is being modernized through mechanization, advanced ablation machines are now available for cancer treatment, and 15 modern smog guns have been imported to combat smog.
The visiting delegation praised Punjab’s welfare initiatives, stating that the ongoing projects are not only commendable but also remarkable.
