US deploys 200 troops to Israel in first phase of Gaza ceasefire

Washington: According to reports from US media, 200 American soldiers have been deployed to Israel as part of the initial phase of the Gaza ceasefire. These troops will collaborate with military personnel from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey stationed in Gaza, but will not be entering the region themselves.

The Israeli Defense Forces have started returning to their designated borders as part of the peace agreement, with the withdrawal process now underway. To assess this, US Special Envoy Steve Vitkoff visited Gaza and confirmed that the first phase of the Israeli military’s pullback had been completed.

Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command (CENTCOM), also provided a statement after his visit to Gaza. He explained that the purpose of his trip was to evaluate how to establish a US-led civil-military coordination center, emphasizing that no American military forces would be deployed in Gaza itself.
