Lahore: In a series of recent operations across various cities in Punjab, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested 18 terrorists, including a key member of a highly dangerous militant group. According to sources, this member had already completed plans for a terrorist attack in one of the cities.
The arrested individuals were found in possession of explosives, IED bombs, detonators, safety fuses, pamphlets, and cash. The operations took place in Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Toba Tek Singh, Khushab, Narowal, Pakpattan, and Bhakkar.
The CTD revealed that the terrorists were attempting to spread fear among the public. The identified suspects include Muhammad Kareem, Ali Raza, Muhammad Aziz, Muhammad Ali, Hashim, Noorul Amin, Saleem, and Saddam.
Additionally, during 4,601 combing operations this month across Punjab, 320 suspicious individuals were apprehended, and 109,892 people were interrogated.
