The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board is expected to meet in December, where approval is likely for the third tranche of $1.2 billion for Pakistan.
According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the meeting will approve $1 billion under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, along with an additional $200 million for climate financing.
A staff-level agreement between Pakistan and the IMF was reached on October 15, and it is anticipated that the next tranche of funds under the loan program will be disbursed following the December meeting.
