KSE-100 plunges nearly 7% amid heavy trading activity

Karachi (Web Desk): The Pakistan Stock Exchange’s KSE-100 Index saw a sharp decline on Monday, dropping 11,015.95 points (6.99%) to close at 146,480.15 points, down from 157,496.10 points in the previous session.

Market activity surged, with 621.65 million shares traded compared to 363.15 million shares the day before. The total turnover also jumped to Rs37.116 billion, up from Rs23.108 billion.

Out of 480 listed companies, only 33 posted gains, while 386 saw losses and 61 remained unchanged.

The futures market mirrored the downturn, with 316 companies active—315 declined and just one advanced.
