Islamabad : President Asif Ali Zardari has extended his congratulations to Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and its leader Balendra Shah following their historic success in the 2026 elections.
In his statement, the President praised the energetic involvement of young voters in the polls, calling it a positive sign of a regional demand for transparent governance and meaningful reforms. He also reiterated Pakistan’s interest in enhancing bilateral relations grounded in mutual respect, trust, and shared priorities.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the RSP on its impressive victory. Writing on his X account, he highlighted that the results demonstrate the confidence of Nepali citizens in a fresh and dynamic leadership.
The Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to collaborate closely with Nepal’s new government to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
