Rawalpindi : Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a series of high-level meetings in Istanbul during his official visit to Türkiye.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir separately met Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Turkish National Defence Minister Yaşar Güler, and Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu.
The meetings focused on matters of shared interest, strengthening defence ties between the countries and developments concerning the regional security situation.
The Army Chief and CDF also participated in a session of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, which brings together Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
During the trilateral meeting, the participants examined ways to enhance strategic coordination and expand defence cooperation among the three countries.
According to ISPR, the high-level engagements highlighted the strong fraternal relations between Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, while reflecting their growing cooperation in strategic and defence affairs.
