Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, conducted a visit to flood-affected regions of Punjab, including Sialkot, Shakargarh, Narowal, and Kartarpur. During his visit, he personally met with those impacted by the floods and pledged full support to aid their recovery.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the Field Marshal received an in-depth briefing on the ongoing rescue and relief operations. He was also updated on the precautionary measures being implemented in anticipation of further rainfall. Appreciating the seamless coordination between the military forces and civilian agencies, he directed for the relief efforts to be expedited even further.
In Kartarpur, Field Marshal Munir also engaged with the local Sikh community, assuring them that all religious sites, including the revered Kartarpur Sahib, will be restored to their original condition.
He emphasized that safeguarding the rights and security of minority communities remains a top priority for the state and its institutions.
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fully respecting minority rights, stressing that any form of negligence or oversight in this regard will not be tolerated.
The Sikh community warmly welcomed his visit and expressed gratitude for the support extended during this challenging time.
