ISLAMABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has announced that the upcoming provincial budget will include targeted relief measures for the salaried class, who continue to suffer under the weight of growing inflation.
Speaking to media in Sehwan, his hometown, CM Murad said that final decisions on salary increases will be made after the federal government shares its financial figures.
He confirmed that the Sindh budget is scheduled to be presented on June 13, following the federal budget on June 10.
Acknowledging the financial pressures faced by the average citizen, the chief minister emphasized the government’s commitment to ease the burden on working individuals through meaningful budgetary relief.
Hope for Federal Tax Concessions
CM Murad expressed optimism that the federal government would also announce tax relief for the salaried class.
He stated that both provincial and federal governments must align efforts to protect the most affected segments of society.
He highlighted key priorities set by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, including clean drinking water and solar energy initiatives.
Murad Ali Shah revealed that out of 2.1 million homes pledged for flood victims, one million have already been completed.
He noted that construction of the remaining homes is progressing rapidly under the provincial government’s supervision.
Opposition Criticized Over Irrelevant Protests
When asked about PTI’s planned protest campaign post-Eid, Murad dismissed it as another media stunt.
He urged PTI to focus on their legal challenges instead of inciting street agitation.
The CM criticized the opposition for failing to address real public concerns and accused them of building shallow narratives.
He also did not hold back in blaming power distribution companies for the ongoing crisis.
“SEPCO, HESCO, and K-Electric have all failed to deliver,” he said.
He reported up to 18 hours of load shedding in various parts of Sindh, calling the situation unacceptable.
