Rawalpindi: In a significant bilateral meeting, Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, hosted General Fayyadh bin Hameed Al Rowaili, the Chief of General Staff of Saudi Arabia’s Armed Forces, to discuss deepening the strategic military cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in key areas such as defense, security, and counter-terrorism.
The discussions were centered on further strengthening the longstanding military ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of mutual support in tackling regional security challenges. They also reviewed ongoing defense initiatives and outlined plans to expand joint efforts in counter-terrorism operations.
As a mark of respect and protocol, General Al Rowaili was presented with a Guard of Honor upon his arrival at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. Following the formal reception, the visiting Saudi military chief laid a wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada (Martyrs Memorial), paying tribute to the Pakistani soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.
The meeting comes at a time of increased defense collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with both countries continuing to work together on multiple fronts to ensure peace and security in the region. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing defense ties and vowed to continue supporting each other in the face of emerging security threats.
