Govt slashes petrol price by Rs10.28, diesel by Rs8.57 per litre for the next 15 days

Islamabad : Pakistanis started 2026 with some good news at the pump as the federal government announced a significant cut in petrol prices for the next two weeks.

Starting January 1, the price of petrol will drop by Rs 10.28, bringing it down to Rs 253.17 per litre, as confirmed by the Petroleum Division in a statement.

This move comes after the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) recommended the price adjustment to the federal government.

In addition, high-speed diesel also saw a reduction, falling by Rs 8.57 per litre to Rs 257.08.

In comparison, during the previous fortnightly review, diesel prices were slashed by Rs 14 per litre, while petrol prices remained unchanged.

This new price drop offers some much-needed relief to consumers amidst the ongoing economic challenges.
