Islamabad : The second total lunar eclipse of 2025 is set to take place tonight, offering skywatchers across Pakistan, as well as parts of Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and North and South America, a chance to witness this celestial event.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the moon will begin to dim at 8:28 PM (local time) on September 7. The partial eclipse phase will commence at 9:27 PM, followed by the total eclipse, which will begin at 10:31 PM. The eclipse will reach its maximum phase at 11:12 PM.
The partial eclipse will conclude at 12:57 AM, while the entire eclipse event will end at 1:55 AM on September 8.
This lunar eclipse will be visible across various regions including Western North America, Eastern South America, and much of the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans, as well as the Arctic and Antarctic.
Stargazers and astronomy enthusiasts in Pakistan and other parts of the world are encouraged to observe this rare astronomical event, weather permitting.
