Pakistani Students Begin Evacuation from Iran Amid Conflict

ISLAMABAD: More than a hundred Pakistani students enrolled in various Iranian universities have started returning home amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel, according to Dunya News.

The Pakistan International Medical Students Association (PIMSA) confirmed that at least 80 students from Hormozgan Medical University and 97 students from Zanjan Medical University have safely departed for Pakistan.

In addition, dozens of students from Tehran-based universities are also heading towards the Iranian-Pakistani border for evacuation.

Embassy Support Ensures Safe Return

PIMSA noted that the organization remains in constant communication with concerned authorities to monitor the evolving situation and ensure the safety of Pakistani medical students.

The association lauded the Pakistani Embassy in Iran for its proactive role, coordination, and ongoing assistance in facilitating the students’ safe return.

Students and their families expressed relief over the embassy’s swift action and PIMSA’s advocacy during this critical time.

Call for Urgent Evacuation

In its statement, PIMSA urged the government to take immediate steps to evacuate the remaining students stranded in Iran.

They stressed the need for a comprehensive and expedited strategy to ensure no student is left behind or exposed to risk due to the escalating regional crisis.

The association reiterated its commitment to the safety and welfare of Pakistani students abroad and called on authorities to remain vigilant as the situation unfolds.
