Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif spoke with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev via phone, congratulating him and the Azerbaijani people on successfully signing a groundbreaking peace agreement with Armenia.
Shahbaz Sharif commended President Aliyev’s visionary leadership in resolving a long-standing regional dispute. He expressed optimism that this peace deal will usher in a new phase of stability and economic growth for the region. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong support for Azerbaijan and its citizens during this important moment.
Additionally, Shahbaz Sharif praised the pivotal role played by former US President Donald Trump in helping bring about this historic accord.
President Aliyev thanked the Pakistani government and people for their steadfast backing on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He highlighted that peace in the region will enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Central Asian countries.
