Imran Delays Protests Amid Middle East Crisis

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and PTI patron-in-chief Imran Khan has postponed his party’s planned nationwide protests for at least two weeks in light of the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

The announcement was made by his sisters, Noreen Niazi and Uzma, after a visit to Adiala Jail on Tuesday, where Imran Khan is currently being held.

According to Noreen, Imran Khan believes that in times of global conflict, especially involving Muslim countries, Pakistan should demonstrate unity.

His third sister, Aleema Khan, was not permitted to meet him during the visit.

PTI Confirms Protest Suspension

PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqqas Akram confirmed the delay and said that the party is taking the international situation seriously.

“We are passing through a very sensitive time. So it has been decided that the party will not hold any protest for two weeks,” Akram told the media.

The decision was reportedly taken after internal consultations and is meant to send a signal of national solidarity amid the Iran-Israel war.

Imran had earlier called for protests after Eidul Azha to pressure the government on political and economic issues.

Call for Unity During Regional Tensions

Raoof Hasan, who leads PTI’s political think tank, supported the decision, saying the situation in the Middle East demands a united national front.

He stated that political confrontation at this time could send the wrong message to the global community.

Imran Khan’s stance on Israel has long been vocal, and his family reiterated that his views remain unchanged amid the current crisis.

This move is being seen as a strategic pause by PTI amid rising geopolitical uncertainty in the region.
