Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has started a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan on Friday to participate in the nation’s Victory Day celebrations marking the fifth anniversary of the event.
Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, is accompanying the Prime Minister on this diplomatic trip.
During his visit, PM Shehbaz Sharif is set to hold talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, energy, defence, education, and regional connectivity.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan have long enjoyed strong relations, based on common religious, historical, and cultural bonds, as well as mutual respect.
Both countries also collaborate closely within international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and the United Nations (UN).
