Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated that Pakistan’s youth, especially students, represent the nation’s greatest asset. Speaking at the inauguration of the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, he highlighted that investing billions of rupees into the country’s students is a crucial step toward building a prosperous future.
The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt admiration for the brilliant students, their families, and educators, recognizing their dedication and achievements that have made Pakistan proud on the international stage.
In his speech, Prime Minister Sharif shared that the government has already spent over 50 billion rupees on the laptop initiative since 2011. However, he emphasized that even an investment of 500 billion rupees would still fall short of the necessary funds to secure the future of the country’s youth.
In an innovative suggestion, the Prime Minister proposed that instead of promotional logos, the laptops should display the faces of the students receiving them, symbolizing the belief that these young individuals will play a key role in shaping Pakistan’s future success.
Shehbaz Sharif also praised the accomplishments of Pakistani youth who are making significant strides on the global stage. He pointed out that many young Pakistanis recently returned from Saudi Arabia, where massive investments are being made in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He stressed that Pakistan should follow suit by investing in similar technological fields and educational advancements to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving global economy.
In closing, the Prime Minister called for a stronger, united effort in advancing Pakistan’s education and technology sectors. He emphasized that fostering innovation and knowledge will unlock new pathways for national growth and development, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
