Suggestions for Saving Energy and Improving the Environment in Pakistan

Islamabad: The World Bank has released a report on Pakistan’s energy sector, stating that by adopting modern technology, the country could reduce electricity consumption by up to 60% and cut carbon emissions by 13%.

The report highlights that most coal-fired boilers in Pakistan are outdated, and replacing them could save up to $2 billion annually in the gas sector. Additionally, replacing inefficient compressors would significantly lower energy consumption.

The World Bank has urged both the government and private sector to act promptly on these recommendations in order to address the energy crisis and improve Pakistan’s environmental conditions.
