Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz unveils new electric bus service, supports flood victims

Wazirabad : Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated an electric bus service in Wazirabad, aiming to resolve the city’s long-standing public transportation challenges. Expressing surprise over the absence of such services earlier, she welcomed this new initiative as a major relief for local commuters.

Maryam Nawaz also revealed plans to launch a metro bus service in nearby Gujranwala soon. The fare for travel between Wazirabad and Gujranwala will be set at a nominal Rs. 20, with students, women, and differently-abled individuals granted free rides.

In addition to this, the Chief Minister paid a visit to a flood relief camp established for families affected by the recent severe floods. During her visit, she engaged with displaced residents, gathered updates on ongoing rescue efforts, and evaluated the support services available at the camp.

Demonstrating empathy and solidarity, she personally served meals to the flood victims and spent time encouraging children, lifting their spirits amid difficult circumstances.

Maryam Nawaz acknowledged that Punjab is currently enduring one of its most severe flood crises. She praised the Pakistan Army, rescue teams, health workers, and police personnel for their relentless efforts in assisting those impacted by the disaster.

Furthermore, she distributed gifts among women and children at the camp, bringing smiles and a sense of comfort to the flood-affected families.
