Punjab CM Orders Immediate Cut in Roti Prices Following Fall in Flour Rates

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken swift action to ease the burden on low-income families by ordering an immediate reduction in roti prices after a recent decline in flour rates.

During a high-level meeting focused on commodity prices, the CM directed the Price Control Department to quickly adjust roti prices, ensuring that the benefits of lower flour costs reach consumers without delay.

This move comes amid rising inflation and ongoing challenges faced by the public, especially the underprivileged, who have been struggling to afford basic food items.

Focus on Consumer Relief and Price Control

Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of strict oversight on essential food commodities, not just flour and roti but also chicken, vegetables, and lentils.

She expressed concern over how inflation has made it difficult for families to maintain a nutritious diet.

Highlighting the plight of children from poorer households, the CM pointed out that soaring prices have deprived them of once-affordable meals like chicken.

She pledged rigorous monitoring to prevent any price exploitation and promised that no unjustified increase in essential food items will be tolerated.

Commitment to Reducing Inflationary Pressures

The Chief Minister reiterated her resolve to keep roti prices at historic lows, ensuring that the reduction in flour costs directly benefits the public.

This approach reflects her administration’s broader efforts to control inflation and provide relief to vulnerable communities.

The government’s focus remains on delivering tangible improvements in the cost of living, making staple food items affordable for everyone.
