KARACHI: Residents of Karachi experienced mild earthquake tremors on Sunday evening as the Seismological Center recorded a 3.6 magnitude quake. The earthquake’s epicenter was near Quaidabad, occurring at a depth of 10 kilometers. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) confirmed that no casualties or property damage have been reported so far.
Areas Affected by the Tremors
The tremors were felt across multiple localities, including Malir, Shah Faisal, Landhi, and surrounding areas. Many residents reported feeling the shaking but expressed relief as the intensity was moderate and short-lived. Authorities continue to monitor seismic activity in the region to ensure public safety.
No Reported Damage or Casualties
According to the PMD, the earthquake caused no injuries or damage to infrastructure. Local emergency services remain on alert, but so far, there have been no calls for assistance related to the quake.
