ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has postponed the presentation of its annual budget from June 13 to June 16 to allow more time for finalising the budget documents.
Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman confirmed the change and said the government is working tirelessly to prepare a public-friendly, tax-free budget.
“We are not going to impose any new taxes on the people,” the minister assured.
He added that a few extra days are needed to ensure everything is perfectly in order before the presentation.
The revised date means the Punjab Assembly will now hold the budget session on June 16, where the financial roadmap for the fiscal year 2025-26 will be presented.
Focus on Public Relief and Development
The Finance Minister emphasised that the upcoming budget will prioritise relief for the masses without adding any extra financial burden on citizens.
The government is committed to balancing public expectations while continuing to push development initiatives forward.
This approach aims to ensure economic stability and growth while easing the pressures on taxpayers.
Tax-Free Budget Commitment
Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman reiterated the government’s resolve not to introduce any new taxes in the budget.
The emphasis remains on making the budget accessible and fair to all segments of society.
The extra time taken to finalise the budget documents will help deliver a thoroughly prepared and comprehensive plan that aligns with these goals.
The Punjab government’s decision to delay the budget presentation reflects its dedication to delivering a balanced and inclusive financial plan that supports both the economy and the public welfare.
