Lahore – Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has stated that in the country’s political landscape, the door to negotiations usually opens after a period of tension. He emphasized the importance of remaining hopeful, saying that better outcomes always emerge through dialogue.
Speaking to reporters during his appearance at the Accountability Court in Rawalpindi, Elahi said, “Reconciliation comes after resistance — it’s a part of political tradition.”
When asked about reports of a potential change in the presidency, Elahi expressed surprise, saying, “That’s news to me — I’m hearing it from you.”
Responding to a question about the protest called for August 5 to demand the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, alongside parallel talks of negotiations, Elahi remarked, “Reconciliation is in the country’s best interest, and solutions will only come through meaningful dialogue.”
