Shefali Jariwala, “Kaanta Laga” Star, Passes Away at 42

ISLAMABAD: Indian actress and model Shefali Jariwala, famously known as the “Kaanta Laga Girl,” died of a cardiac arrest at the age of 42.

She suffered the fatal cardiac arrest late Friday night and was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri by her husband Parag Tyagi, but was declared dead on arrival.

Hospital officials confirmed her passing, and her body was sent to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Official confirmation of the cause is pending.

Shefali gained instant stardom in 2002 with her bold and iconic performance in the music video Kaanta Laga, which became a cultural phenomenon in India.
