Fakhrobod Base, Tajikistan — From August 4 to 9, 2026, Pakistan and Tajikistan conducted their second joint counter-terrorism exercise, “Dosti-II,” marking another milestone in military cooperation between the two friendly nations. The training took place at the strategically significant Fakhrobod Base, bringing together 2 combat teams from Pakistan Army’s Light Commando Battalion and 4 combat teams from Tajikistan’s Special Forces.
The week-long exercise focused on enhancing interoperability, refining counter-terrorism tactics, and strengthening the procedural drills necessary for joint operations. Both countries showcased exemplary professionalism and dedication throughout the training.
The closing ceremony on August 9 was attended by Colonel Muhammad Muazzam Zafar, Defence Attaché (Pakistan) in Tajikistan, who served as the chief guest. Senior military officials from Tajikistan were also present, underscoring the significance of this bilateral engagement.
“Dosti-II” not only reinforced historic military-to-military ties but also highlighted a mutual commitment to regional security through collaborative efforts against terrorism. The successful completion of the exercise is expected to pave the way for more extensive future joint training initiatives.
