Public cooperation key to countering terrorism in Balochistan, says DG ISPR

Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Army’s spokesperson has reiterated that the security operations currently underway in Balochistan are strictly aimed at neutralizing terrorist elements, with the safety of ordinary citizens fully ensured. Speaking at a special session with students from Balochistan during an ISPR-led internship program, the Director General of ISPR responded to youth questions, emphasizing that merely vacating areas does not resolve conflicts—true progress is achieved through active community engagement and collaboration.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry commended the resilience and sacrifices of Balochistan’s residents, noting that today, the province’s youth, women, and children are taking charge of their own futures. He further highlighted the province’s diverse linguistic and cultural fabric, stressing its strong allegiance to Pakistan and the profound connection between the region and the nation.

The discussion also paid tribute to the valor of the Pakistan Army, especially remembering the sacrifices of martyr Major Muhammad Anwar Kakr, and reviewed the effective counterterrorism operations conducted in the region. DG ISPR underscored that enduring peace in Balochistan hinges on the combined efforts of the local population and governing bodies.
