Washington: US President Donald Trump has called on Ukraine to promptly enter into a ceasefire agreement with Russia to stop further bloodshed and bring peace to the war-torn region.
In a statement to the press, Trump expressed deep concern over the rising casualties and stressed the importance of ending the conflict swiftly. He acknowledged Russia’s significant military capabilities and advised Ukraine to take a practical stance by agreeing to a ceasefire.
Trump noted that negotiations for a ceasefire are nearing completion but emphasized that Ukraine must show willingness to finalize the deal. “I would advise Ukraine to accept the ceasefire because there is no justification for more loss of life,” he said.
Highlighting his diplomatic experience, Trump referenced his role in resolving conflicts in several parts of the world, including Congo, Rwanda, Thailand, Cambodia, and the ongoing disputes between Iran and Israel. He also warned that without his intervention, tensions between Pakistan and India could have escalated into a nuclear confrontation.
