Trump announces China visit after positive talks with Xi Jinping

Washington/Beijing: President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping Held a Significant Phone Conversation Covering Bilateral Relations, Trade, Russia-Ukraine War, and TikTok Deal

In an important telephonic discussion, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping exchanged views on multiple critical issues including bilateral ties, trade relations, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the TikTok agreement.

Describing the conversation as “productive,” President Trump announced that the next meeting between the two leaders is scheduled for November during the APEC forum in South Korea. He also revealed plans for an official visit to China early next year, with President Xi expected to visit the U.S. at a mutually convenient time.

President Trump further stated that progress has been made regarding the approval of the TikTok deal and that further discussions with President Xi will follow. He emphasized the necessity of ending the Russia-Ukraine war, highlighting China’s potential role in facilitating a resolution.

On the other hand, President Xi Jinping described the talks as positive and constructive. He affirmed China’s commitment to respecting market principles and domestic laws in all corporate matters, including TikTok. President Xi urged the U.S. to avoid unilateral trade measures and tariffs to maintain stability in the global trade system.

He underscored that China-U.S. trade relations are crucial not only for the two countries but also for the global economy. He stressed that long-lasting relations depend on mutual respect and a balanced consideration of interests.
